BIO
Although Myah was born in Connecticut, she has been a lifelong wanderer and found herself at Eastern Michigan University when she received her BFA and won the prestigious Cellar Roots award for her capstone project. Initially drawn to photography she worked for magazines and fashion houses in the Midwest and East Coast including Hour Detroit, Gotham City Online and eFashion Solutions.
Afer re-locating to the west coast and opening the first of several galleries she has owned and run, her art shifted from photography to paintings and mixed media. Although it has been through different iterations, her work always prominently features portraits with narrative qualities usually rooted in nostalgia. Besides showing in galleries her creations have been licensed by Burton Snowboards and fashion designers both domestically and internationally. She has murals in various cities stretching from the Rocky Mountains all the way to Melrose Blvd. in Los Angeles, which is her adopted home where she currently resides (for now anyway).
